new year 2013

(Fear not) … venture to inner peace. ~ Alan Lohner

As I woke up this morning, I had a bright smile on my face. A genuine one from the heart, this one I can tell. Feeling extremely focused and centered. I wonder why… but I feel good the whole day indeed. (Meaning in good mood la). It could be a sign of New Year or, knowing that I do have a lot of new things to do starting tomorrow. I am counting down silently + excitedly. =)

Here’s a good one that I quite agree with: Everyday is a new beginning. Take a deep breath, and start again. =)

Now please excuse me, while I’ve gotta go jumping up and down on my feet in excitement. Happy New Year, people !!

Yellow…

flower

… is the color of friendship, lightheartedness, deep joy and happiness. Warm and bright. It is also considered a symbol of purity, clarity truth and intellect. It is tied to creative and intelligent thinking. Yellow flower simply make people smile. Here’s a yellow flower for you. Have a bright and sunny day !! ~Melle

Sk8…

…pronounced “skate”.

sk8

Completion Date: 1998
Technique: Poster Colour
Material: Art Board
Dimensions: 42 x 50cm

… when I was a teenager, there’s something undeniably cool about sk8boarding. The sport itself, the tricks, the uniqueness and coolness, the graffiti, the sk8board design and the style. Not to forget the sk8ers. It’s a turn on. :p

In the painting, you can see one of my favourite tricks. It is the Ollie. It is the most important sk8boarding trick. The Ollie is a jumping technique that allows sk8ers to hop over obstacles and onto curbs, etc. What’s so amazing about the Ollie is the way the sk8board seems to stick to the sk8er’s feet in midair.

Another one is the Grinds. Sk8ers slide along an object using the trucks of a sk8board rather than the wheels. Grinds can be performed on any object narrow enough to fit between wheels and are often performed on the coping (edge) of a sk8 ramp, a purpose-built “grind box”, step, ledge or horizontally-positioned pole.

Tony Hawk, the legend is my idol. Besides the 60’s, I got part of my inspiration from sk8boarding back then. Ada stylo mylo. 🙂

Bookmarked !!

bookmark

Erm, nope. Not the bookmark on the website. It’s the bookmark used to mark one’s place in a book. Yup, book. For the first time, I have a bookmark for my books. I don’t really use one. I will either stuck a piece of receipt or a sticky in my book. And now I’ve got one that I like. =)

Peeps are recommending me to read from the phone or tablet but I am not a gadget person. I just don’t fancy the glare, the scrolling and the zooming (- and +). Sorry guys, I am old-fashion. But I just can’t help it because I love smelling my books, especially the old ones !! After finishing a book, I’ll fan the pages in my face, sniff the heavenly smell and hold it tenderly to my chest, with love. =P Don’t call me a weirdo. I’m not alone though. 😀

Happy reading to all book lovers !! ~Melle~

sahasrara

…I drew this and was told that it looks like Sahasrara.

Sahasrara is either located at the top of the head in that one area, or a little way above it. Sahasrara chakra symbolizes detachment from illusion; an essential element in obtaining supramental higher consciousness of the truth that one is all and all is one.Often referred as thousand-petaled lotus, it is said to be the most subtle chakra in the system, relating to pure consciousness, and it is from this chakra that all the other chakras emanate. When a yogi is able to raise his or her kundalini, energy of consciousness, up to this point, the state of Samādhi is experienced.

Meditating on this point is said to bring about the siddhis, or occult powers, of transforming into the divine, and being able to do whatever one wishes.
