Good Day…

“How was it?”, Abner asked.
“Great!”, that’s my answer to the question with a contented smile.

I never knew how great doing yoga in the morning could truely be. It helps clear my mind and relax my soul after a long and hectic week. The more I practice yoga, the more I got enlightened. Yoga is not only toning your body or giving you strength. Yoga is a philosophy that begins with the spirit. Getting in touch with your spirit is the true goal of yoga. It occurs naturally when your mind quiets and you are able to access the inner wisdom that emerges from the deepest aspect of your being. There are more to learn and experience – everyday. πŸ™‚

Now, please do allow me to share with you how to start a good day with this simple breathing exercise – Ujjayi breathing.

  • Lie on your back or in a seated cross-leg position with your eyes close and place your hands on your stomach.
  • Breathe through your nose and relax all muscles.
  • Inhale slowly, expending your ribcage in 4 counts.
  • Exhale gently, relax tension in 7 counts.
  • Continue breathing at your own pace.

Start each day with this breathing exercise for 1 to 2 minutes. It helps your body and brain to refill each cell with fresh oxygen. Enjoy and have a good day !! Namaste ~ Melle

Fifteen Night…

chap goh mei

Today is the final day of Lunar New Year. It’s also a Chinese Valentine’s Day in Southeast Asia where many unmarried or singles will write their name and contacts on the tangerines and toss them into the sea or lake, in a hope that their future spouse will pick it up. I do have few girlfriends who found their hubby from this tradition. Mm.. mm… faith, faith… πŸ™‚

Tangerines tossing still very in vogue – I believe. To all single ladies and gentlemen, go try tossing some tangerines tonight too. πŸ˜€

Happy Chap Goh Mei !!

OM…

Had my 1st yoga practice this evening with guru Shammee. I fell asleep at the end of Shava Asana and luckily I did not snore. It was so close. Haha. Let me tell you, CNY is tiring. Seriously. I also got myself overindulged. With what else can it be? With snacks of course. Dum dee dum ~

Nothing much to blog about art & craft recently as I am playing around, hosting (by parents) and attending gatherings and practicing some new yoga movements. I am pretty into Fist of Fire right now. Oh ~ don’t get me wrong. It’s not a movie or something. It’s a yoga technique. πŸ˜€ Am also trying to learn more about myself. Have you ever ask yourself “who do you think you really are”? Well… I asked myself uncountable times. I have this doubt in mind since younger till I went to a Buddha meditation by faith few years back and found something that is indescribable. I wanna know what was that, why did it happen, where did the power come from? I wanna know.

“Faith is believing.”

And so I do believe that faith will leads me to the answers of all my questions one day. OM… Namaste.

Lurving it…

pumpkin oatmeal

I am a fan of oatmeal ever since I tried it back in Kluang. Here’s one of my favourite breakfasts that I often cook.

Ingredients:
β€’ Quaker Oatmeal – 1 cup
β€’ Water – 2 1/2 cups
β€’ Pumpkin – about 3 slices – 1 inch thick each
β€’ Carrot – 1/4
β€’ Egg – 1
β€’ Salt to taste – 1/4 teaspoon
β€’ Optional – Chicken breast

Prep:
β€’ Pumpkin – cut into cubes
β€’ Carrot – cut into cubes
β€’ Chicken breast – mince

Cook – Serving for 2:
β€’ Bring the 2 1/2 cups of water, carrot and pumpkin cubes, minced chicken breast to boil in a medium sized saucepan.
β€’ Add the oatmeal over the boiling water, stirring constantly to keep oatmeal from sticking to the bottom of the saucepan.
β€’ Cook until thickness is to your liking.
β€’ Add salt and lower the heat.
β€’ Beat the egg on the oatmeal, stir, simmer for few seconds and it’s ready to serve.

I β™₯ this healthy breakfast. Hope you’ll lurve it too. – Melle
