… when I was a teenager, there’s something undeniably cool about sk8boarding. The sport itself, the tricks, the uniqueness and coolness, the graffiti, the sk8board design and the style. Not to forget the sk8ers. It’s a turn on. :p

In the painting, you can see one of my favourite tricks. It is the Ollie. It is the most important sk8boarding trick. The Ollie is a jumping technique that allows sk8ers to hop over obstacles and onto curbs, etc. What’s so amazing about the Ollie is the way the sk8board seems to stick to the sk8er’s feet in midair.

Another one is the Grinds. Sk8ers slide along an object using the trucks of a sk8board rather than the wheels. Grinds can be performed on any object narrow enough to fit between wheels and are often performed on the coping (edge) of a sk8 ramp, a purpose-built “grind box”, step, ledge or horizontally-positioned pole.

Tony Hawk, the legend is my idol. Besides the 60’s, I got part of my inspiration from sk8boarding back then. Ada stylo mylo. 🙂

Bookmarked !!

bookmark

Erm, nope. Not the bookmark on the website. It’s the bookmark used to mark one’s place in a book. Yup, book. For the first time, I have a bookmark for my books. I don’t really use one. I will either stuck a piece of receipt or a sticky in my book. And now I’ve got one that I like. =)

Peeps are recommending me to read from the phone or tablet but I am not a gadget person. I just don’t fancy the glare, the scrolling and the zooming (- and +). Sorry guys, I am old-fashion. But I just can’t help it because I love smelling my books, especially the old ones !! After finishing a book, I’ll fan the pages in my face, sniff the heavenly smell and hold it tenderly to my chest, with love. =P Don’t call me a weirdo. I’m not alone though. 😀

Happy reading to all book lovers !! ~Melle~

sahasrara

…I drew this and was told that it looks like Sahasrara.

Sahasrara is either located at the top of the head in that one area, or a little way above it. Sahasrara chakra symbolizes detachment from illusion; an essential element in obtaining supramental higher consciousness of the truth that one is all and all is one.Often referred as thousand-petaled lotus, it is said to be the most subtle chakra in the system, relating to pure consciousness, and it is from this chakra that all the other chakras emanate. When a yogi is able to raise his or her kundalini, energy of consciousness, up to this point, the state of Samādhi is experienced.

Meditating on this point is said to bring about the siddhis, or occult powers, of transforming into the divine, and being able to do whatever one wishes.

Movie of the year…

life of pi

… must watch !! The most magnificent part was when the whale jumps out from the water. It is so impressively beautiful. I got stunned a bit, I got my eyes opened real big and it got me wowed, softly and silently. How I wish that I could have this moment in life.

In conclusion, I love the entire movie. Hmm… I’ll be getting the book too. 😉

… this is a’lil bit of a self-portrait. Yeap, that’s my zodiac :). M.O.N.K.E.Y.

As you can see, there’s wood background (love the daring-colour combination) and leaves framing around. Nature and forest is mesmerizing. Paint brush and pencils; I love drawing and painting since 4. Yes I still do. Books, aha~ I like reading. Geometric, mm… I like math and science back in ol’school days. Can’t believe it huh? 😛 Uhh… Bananas, I can eat 6-8 bananas at a time. Not too much huh? And the look; cool-snobbish-gloomy-pout lips-arm crossed-cheeky?. You name it. That’s me. Haha.

It was fun painting this. I hope to paint more when I am on my sabbatical soon. 🙂
