Restorative…

supta badhha konasana

… this asana promotes circulation around the pelvis and the front body (pelvis, belly, chest, and throat), Supta Baddha Konasana is often recommended for:

• women, in all stages of life
• supporting fertility
• pregnancy
• easing PMS symptoms
• easing menstrual cramps
• improving indigestion
• increasing flexibility in the inner hips/groins

In addition, Supta Baddha Konasana can be very grounding and soothing. It calms the sympathetic nervous system. You can practice this pose when you seek to:

• calm anxiety
• reduce stress
• soothe and comfort
• improve focus
• calm and clear a scattered mind
• reduce tension
• relieve headaches

I have just tried it to relief menstrual cramps and it is magic. 😉

How?

1. This pose requires a yoga strap and bolster (or folded blanket).
2. Begin in a seated position with your feet together.
3. Connect the strap in a wide loop.
4. Wrap the strap around the back (on the sacrum) and then wrap the other end around both feet so that they are pulled in close to the body and supported.
5. Then, use a bolster under the middle back to the head and lay back.

Once you get comfortable in this pose you won’t want to get out of it!

The 5 Sundays…

namaste

…class is ending soon. By looking back in time, I was uncertain of what I wanted. The question of “Should I, or shouldn’t I?” kept repeating in my mind for a year plus. It definitely changes my life after taking the IYIC. It opens a new path in life and I’m excited to start a class. Beginner class of course. 🙂

The thing is, it is indeed hard to say goodbye when we just started to get used to spending our Sundays together, namaskar-ing to master, practising, sharing, stretching, assignments and supporting each other. Although it is just merely the 4th week, but I find the bond between us, the friendship and the smiles in the room amazed me. The comfort and trust built within us makes me look forward to Sunday although we have to sacrifice our Sunday sleep by waking up early in the morning and got freak out with all the Sanskrits to be remembered. Ouch… heavy hearted-nya. But yeap, I have no regrets and it’s not a full-stop yet where there are more to learn and explore. 🙂

Here I sincerely wish all my classmates, best of luck and may their journey of life is vibrant and full of colorful rainbow. Keep smilling and keep stretching, you future teachers !!

Namaskar. ~ Melle

A weekend walk…

weekend walk

…after weeks of revision, memorizing and practising, I decided to let go of everything for a day and breathe. Catching up with friends, do some bouldering, slack line, joke around and laugh it all out is one of the best ways of relaxation. Whenever I got my eyes closed, I spent the moment practicing by heart. Can I call it as shadow practice? *blerk… 😛

It has been a while since the last outing with my family members. Gathering up with them never fail to bring warmth to my heart…

It’s another brand new week. Wishing everyone good health and happiness. ~ Melle

The art of balancing life…

the art of balancing life

… Here’s the photo of our yoga performance where I got it from Abby. Haven’t been on stage like eons (never like it though) but it was a great and fun experience. I have been staring on the screen for minutes and I’ve decided to let the picture do the speaking. I just felt overwhelm. I am going off for yoga class now and let’s keep our life balance. Namaste ~Melle

Handmade for Charity…

handmade magnet

“Hi, I am a magnet and I am made of recycle material from mineral water bottle cap. You can buy me at RM5 and the profits will go to charity. Thank you for your support.”

…Yeah, I’ve been extremely busy with work and some handcraft stuffs for the past 2 months. This is my first handcraft work for charity that I always wanted to do so. It was in my wish list, if you remember it from my earlier post. HE heard me. Thank you. Thank you Esther and Shammee for giving me this big opportunity to try. Albeit the response weren’t good but the opportunity given and the appreciation is more than words can say.

Not forgetting the yoga rehearsal where we were all very well-commited. It was indeed cwazy tiring but I believe we did spent our time meaningfully and gratefully. We built up trust, teamwork, friendship and lotsa warm-beautiful smiles filled up the space amazingly. Sincerely thanks to my family and Abner for the great support and understanding during those hectic days. I feel grateful to have such wonderful and thoughtful people in my life. Thank you all. ~Melle
