Petzl Night Trail Run 2014…

petzl night trail run 2014

How many runs have you ran this year?

1. Brooks 10km
2. Er… 5km Second Chance Run
3. 5km Color Run.
4. This is my 4th run. My 1st trail run. 1st night run. 1st 12km run. ๐Ÿ˜›

Honestly, I was pretty worry and scared of this run. I can really feel butterflies fluttering in my stomach until I really sakit perut. But not to the extend of terberak la. It was good to be there early. We met new good friends and managed to get free taping from Spider Tech. I was actually quite worry about my right knee (old injury) and why not try Spider Tech since it’s free kan? So I told the guy who assist me, “My knee ar ada problem. Masa I naik dan turun ‘slope’, rasa macam ‘dislocate’. Bukan ‘dislocate’ lah tapi macam tersekat. (My knee has problem. When I go up and down the slope, it feels like dislocate. Not really dislocate but kind of stuck. )”. Then this guy press, press, press… and he said. Stiff huh? He continue pressing to examine the knee then he start taping. I also got my sprained shoulder tapped at RM10.

A warm up session started at 730pm. It was conducted by an instructor from Celebrities Fitness and I can’t believe it that I enjoy Zumba so much. Well done! So warmed up, tak sabar-sabar to start running pula. Flag off at 830pm for men and 845pm for women.

I thought that I might be gone in km 1 or 2 but by keeping my momentum and breathing, I managed 4km before entering the trail. I can feel the pain on the chest and I though that that’s it for me. But I try pushing myself a bit, imagine myself practicing yoga. I rolled the shoulders to the back, lift the rib cage up, expand the chest and breathe. Hey, it really helps don’t play play and guess what? I was still running in the trail except for going uphill. No stamina at all for uphill. So I run when the route is flatter or downhill and walk/hike uphill. Panting, friend!

In the middle of run, suddenly my knees came to my senses. Hey, they are doing great. I don’t feel any ‘dislocate’ or stuck sensation. It keeps me moving and especially I can feel it supporting the knee during the run. Wow, magic. It is a going to be a good investment for my sports activities next time. Now I know how useful the tapes are to all the international athletes. In another hand, my sprained shoulder got no any better. I’ve gotta pull out from a Volleyball match in the next morning which I have been dying for. Sob sob… Not happy but I believe that it happens for a reason.

Oh, one more thing! The shoes. Salomon XR Mission Trail-Running shoes that it it. I haven’t tried other brands so far but it is indeed a good pair of trail shoes. Good grip. Good grip!

It is very important to get yourself a good gear for sports when protective equipment can save you from injury. ๐Ÿ™‚ I wish everybody happy weekend and good health always! xox.

Machine dah rosak…

additional_pocket

I am sad. My sewing machine is having some technical problems and I have yet to send it for repair. ๐Ÿ™ Sad. Sad. Sad.

Trail run is taking place tomorrow night and I wanted to bring my mobile phone along. Yes, I insist. I always feel safer to have a phone with me no matter it’s a short jog or walk around the park. Yes, I am a scaredy cat and pardon me for my jakun-ness. This is my 1st trail run and my 1st night run. So, it is a wise choice to have a phone with me. Blerk!

Because I am using a Samsung Note 3, I don’t find it possible getting a shorts with such a huge pocket for it. Therefore, I am modifying mine with a hidden pocket to fit my phone. Material that I choose is knitted cotton which I find it more comfortable when it’s against your skin and sweat absorbent. Says who? ME!

No machine? Hand stitch~lor.

Voilร  it’s done in less than 30 minutes. !! Happy and satisfied with it. Hope I will be able to complete the run tomorrow. Me scared, scared I sakit perut dah. ๐Ÿ˜›

I am on cloud nine…

vb_shoes

Having a pair of indoor court shoes does not sound any biggie, but it is to me. When we were in school, we don’t have a single chance to step into an indoor court. We were very committed to the training on the outdoor court, twice a week for good 4 – 5 hours, be it rain or shine roasting ourselves. On tournaments, we were lucky if it is organized by school with a better court. Tar road was the worse so-called court we have ever been. As a student, I don’t have much money to invest in knee pads. ๐Ÿ™ Diving for the ball or rolling your body over an attack is a NO-NO. I can’t imagine us diving on rough surface and end up got bandaged like a. NO WAY! Damedesu!!

Lately, I just joined a group of Japanese VB team. My very first time on an indoor court was with an inappropriate pair of trail running shoes. What an embarrassment. Now I have a very good reason to get pair of indoor court shoes. So, I went shopping for it. Darn my luck, it’s either the size does not fit me or the price is rocket high. When I was about to give up, I saw this in Muar. It’s love at first sight. What’s best? I got it with 50% discount! So happy I can’t help myself, I have to wear it at home whilst admiring this Mizuno Wave Twister 2. Silly me ๐Ÿ˜› Anyways, it’s not that I am very good at VB. All I want is to keep myself active and have fun!

A wonderful Saturday.

stretch

My respect goes to all fashion designers in the world. You guys are awesome!! Although I am not one of them, but I now know how crazy (in a good way) it is.

I am currently working on new harem pants by demand and also to stock up GOPAKO which has been running out of stocks for a month. Because I am working on my own, it takes me some time from picking the fabrics to drafting and sewing. Drafting the pants is pretty hectic because of the fabrication. Spun cotton or viscose is indeed very comfortable but it is a killer to draft and cut. Next, I have to send them for a special outerlock and unfortunately, their machine is under repair. A couple of days delayed. Darn my luck. Just this week, I managed to get all the pockets ready to be assembled on the pants. This is just step one.

Next, lots of research. Mood board. Mix and match arrangement. Props preparation. Fuh~ I have to organize all these for photoshooting which I enjoy most. I love planning and organizing my work. I am supposed to have a beautiful girl friend of mine to be my model, but understandable that she is packed with her schedule. I can’t wait and needless to say I can’t afford to hire a model just yet. With no choice, I have to be my own model. Yikes, so embarrassing to strut, strut, strut and pose. But I did some wonderful stretching though. Click here for some stretching exercises which I personally find them useful for runners as well as daily activities.

Above is one of my favourite shots. Not professionally taken but, okay-lah. Boleh pakai. Geez, so uncomfortable I felt like a clown more than anything else. So tiring – no joke. Hats off to all the models out there.

I will also be launching a new activity shorts in October which got me absolutely thrilled. They are made with lycra with fold-over waist band and are manufactured in size S, M, L and XL. Do check out GOPAKO in October for more information.

Next will be marketing and publishing. So many things in hand. So many to learn. So excited. So not ready. Mixed feeling.

There’s a saying. What we learn becomes a part of who we are. I hope you enjoy learning as much as I do. Have a nice weekend. ~ Melle

The Color Run…

color_run

… yay!! The happiest 5k run on earth is here in Malaysia and I am missing it so much already. Waking up early like 5:00 am is a tough thing to do… blerk. I must be over excited, I woke up at 4:45am. ๐Ÿ™‚ And because that I have to drive on my own to Lake Gardens, I decided to leave home at 5:45am just in case if I lost my way or couldn’t get a parking space. As always, Waze is my best navigator.

Upon reaching the place, the entrance was blocked. In fact a number ofย  entrances were blocked. A few U-turns I have made and still couldn’t access to the car park area. It is so near and yet so far. Best thing was I ended up in Jalan Ipoh. Oh. My. God. Panic!

In my final U-turn where I have no idea at all where the hell I was, I saw people crossing the road and walking in groups. Cars in long queue heading towards Jalan Parlimen. I was at ease knowing that I am at the right way. Not long after, I managed to park my car and lastly, joined my friends. Phew~

Music started cranking up loud. People start warming up and cheering. Happening-nya. I likey!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Flag off at 7am and here we go get COLORED!!

We were colored in yellow in our 1st km. Followed by orange in the 2nd km, blue 3rd, red 4th and purple last. Viola~ rainbow!

Why the happiest 5km run? Because it’s not a race run. You walk or jog with your friends and enjoy the moment together taking selfie or groufie or wefies, you name it. Throwing colored powder on each other and have FUN!! So cute. So much fun!!

It is awesome to have fun like a child! I want more of this. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am looking forward to the next fun run with my friends and loved ones!

Cheers, Melle.

Sk8…

…pronounced “skate”.

sk8

Completion Date: 1998
Technique: Poster Colour
Material: Art Board
Dimensions: 42 x 50cm

… when I was a teenager, there’s something undeniably cool about sk8boarding. The sport itself, the tricks, the uniqueness and coolness, the graffiti, the sk8board design and the style. Not to forget the sk8ers. It’s a turn on. :p

In the painting, you can see one of my favourite tricks. It is the Ollie. It is the most important sk8boarding trick. The Ollie is a jumping technique that allows sk8ers to hop over obstacles and onto curbs, etc. What’s so amazing about the Ollie is the way the sk8board seems to stick to the sk8er’s feet in midair.

Another one is the Grinds. Sk8ers slide along an object using the trucks of a sk8board rather than the wheels. Grinds can be performed on any object narrow enough to fit between wheels and are often performed on the coping (edge) of a sk8 ramp, a purpose-built “grind box”, step, ledge or horizontally-positioned pole.

Tony Hawk, the legend is my idol. Besides the 60’s, I got part of my inspiration from sk8boarding back then. Ada stylo mylo. ๐Ÿ™‚
